Below are Lilian's thoughts on the capture of Saddam: The Superstars were buzzing backstage about the news that U.S. forces in Iraq captured Saddam Hussein. No one was more delighted than RAW ring announcer Lilian Garcia and not just because she got to sing the National Anthem on live television tonight. Garcia's uncle, Command Sgt. Major Jamie Garcia of the Army, has been stationed in Iraq for several months now. (Among the SmackDown! crew, Chuck Palumbo has a brother there.) When I saw the news this morning, first of all I had to do a double take because I wasn?t sure if I was still dreaming," Lilian said. Lilian said one of her uncle's primary responsibilities is to help keep up the morale of the troops. Because he has a special connection to WWE (his niece), he's been sent several WWE DVDs, including pay-per-view events. ?All the soldiers get together and watch them," Lilian said. Of course, the capture of Saddam is undoubtedly the soldiers. biggest morale boost yet. This will send morale up," Lilian said."It tells the Iraqi people that he?s not coming back; the sons are gone, he's gone, and they can move forward toward democracy."
What Lilian does when she is in-flight:"Raw ring announcer and Diva Lilian Garcia is a tad more productive while airborne. “I did my taxes on one flight recently; I just sat with my tax book and calculator, and spent about two hours on them,” she said. “After that, I worked on words and lyrics for some cover tunes with the band, and then I slept. If it’s a redeye or morning flight, I’m asleep. Luckily, I’m one of those people that can sleep on a flight.”
