Fall 2001 Issue of the Women of Wrestling Magazine
She's isn't the WWF's first female ring announcer, nor is she the first Hispanic announcer. But Lilian Garcia is the WWF's first announcer who happens to be female and Hispanic.
Garcia has been employed by the WWF for a couple of years now, and she's beautiful enough to make fans forget about Howard Finkel. Her announcing skills probably stem from her experience as a professional singer.
Her WWF career has had it's share of pitfalls, however. There was the humiliating moment when Vince McMahon publicly derided her for announcing Steve Austin, ridiculed her singing aspirations, and dismissed her as a "dime a dozen." But even that wasn't as bad as when Jeff Jarrett wrapped her shapely legs into an excruciating figure-four.
Garcia has become wiser about her personal safety. She drops the microphone and runs for cover whenever a brawl ensues. She realizes that a chair shots won't do her pretty face any good.
